Hello! Thank you for choosing Tutor Tots!

FAQ

1. Are you certified tutors? If not, how do I know you are qualified to properly teach my child?

While not certified, we both have extensive tutoring experience having been a part of tutoring programs where we helped other students throughout our educational careers. In addition, we both have maintained stellar grades and have recent, in-depth knowledge of the exact subjects and coursework your child is being assigned.

2. It says that I cannot order from your website, how does payment work?

This website primarily functions as a showcase of our services. Things such as ordering, payment methods, scheduling, and other specifics can be handled via direct email. We know that as a parent, life can be stressful, and as students ourselves, we know better than anyone how confusing and complicated it is tackling large topics. This is why we try to make this process as personalized as possible so that you can get the exact help that you and your child need while not wasting a single dollar.

3. How involved will I be in the process?

As we said, we try to make this process very personalized, so you can be as involved or as not involved as you'd like! Activities and examples can be done either by the student themselves or with you, and biweekly reports are given to all parents so that they may track areas of weakness and see plans to combat this at the same time as us. Our email is always open to parents as well, so feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.

4. What is the cancellation/ refund policy?

All payments are taken upfront, so we understand the concern for refunds. We would also be hesitant to spend money without knowing the quality of the product beforehand! For this reason, you may cancel sessions with refund up to one day before the session is scheduled (all sessions are scheduled one week in advance). During and after the session, however, refunds will not be given unless there is specific reason to do so (such as we could not make the meeting, there was a technical issue, etc.). We promise we are reasonable, though, so if you ever have any concerns feel free to email us and we can discuss the options.

5. Is there anything required of me or my child beyond payment?

There are a few things required. They are as follows:

  • some form of communication (computer, phone, etc.)
  • necessary links and documents (pictures of homework problems, links to textbooks, written work, etc.)
  • *optional* some form of video connection
  • *optional* a list of specific questions
  • *optional* a parent

Written work, the list of questions, and necessary links and documents need to be given at least one day prior to the scheduled session. Otherwise, we may have difficulty accessing, going over, and forming answers around necessary information. This will not only waste your time (and therefore your money) but also ours as we genuinely enjoy helping students learn, so we don't want to use a session doing anything that could have been done prior.

6. What is your availability?

We are both currently in high school, however as schools are shut down due to the Covid-19 epidemic we have become very available.

  • Current hours are Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 7 PM (the last session of the day having to end at 7 PM).
  • During a typical school year, hours would be Monday through Friday from 5 PM to 8 PM (the last session of the day having to end at 8 PM).
We are, however, reasonable. We understand that scheduling can be difficult, and some times may not work for everyone. We will do our best to accommodate your needs, so send us an email and we can discuss the options.

7. Why should I choose your services over anyone else?

We are educated, driven, and have a passion for spreading knowledge. We have extensive experience with tutoring (especially K-5 students), have recently explored these subjects in depth and passed the classes with soaring colors, and are willing to tailor your tutoring experience around you. The one-on-one system between us and your child is guaranteed to put their concerns and weaknesses front and center, which cannot be done in a classroom where everyone has to follow the same lesson and have their various levels of understanding ignored. Put plainly, we are the right fit for the students of today, and we'd love if you gave us a chance to prove just that! Please, consider joining the TutorTot community today!
